Unfortunately this dishwasher does not have a glossy black finish as I was disappointed to discover. It is definitely matte. We also were trying to match older appliances; it seems almost impossible to find appliances with that glossy finish today, believe me, we tried! On the positive, it's not really noticeable with everything else that goes on in a kitchen. And, it's a great dishwasher!
