“A couple of these models say they have a 3rd Rack however the photos only show two? what am i missing?”

There is a 3rd rack which is for utensils only
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.There is a flat third rack. I didn't realize how great it was until we started using it. I initially wanted it for all the small baby bottle parts that typcally get blown around in regular dishwashers. But the rack has ridges and it is also designed to hold silverware. This weekend we had a big dinner, and I needed all of the space in the bottom rack for pots, so I took the silverward basket out, and placed the silverware on the flat rack. You slide each silverware piece into a ridge slot, and they all stay in place while being washed. I am sure it says it in the owners manual, but we never have had to open it. Everything is intuitive.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It's a small top rack, I usually use it for utensils and my children's small toys and pacificers. It's about 1.5-2 inches from the top. I found it by accident:)
