• The app does not run while the Earbuds are in use. The app simply turns them on & off and allows you to pick a particular sound. Also to set a wake-up alarm.

• No, the Bose app has downloaded all of the features. When you listen to the sounds from the app, it works through a blue tooth connection. It even has an alarm setting through the earbuds!

• I just checked my data and it definitely does not use data. Once you download the app to your phone it is just like listening to your music on your phone. I love Bose speakers!! The sleep buds are really great. My husband has sleep apnea and his machine keeps me awake. The buds let you talk with them in but as soon as you put the white noise on you block out the machine noise. MY only complaint is that i cant use them to listen to other things. I wish Boise could make them to down load oher nite time sounds I have . Over all they do as advertised very well. They are very pricey for the limited use but you cant put a price on a good nites sleep

• No. The sounds are stored locally inside the bud itself, the phone is used via Bluetooth for changing sounds, updating firmware, and setting alarms.
