I know that my QC45 connects with my old iPod. And I'm quite sure you can use an apple charger, as long as you use the type A to type c chord to connect. It will just take longer because the Apple charger is at such a low electrical range for charging it's a devices.

I don't have an iPod nano to be able to tell you that it does but the QC45 brings an audio cable so you can directly connect it to a device.
