“What is the difference between quiet comfort 45 and the 700 model in so far as noise canceling is concerned? I am getting these solely for the noise canceling feature.”

The 700's are the godfathers to ANC and consistently ranked top for this feature. The biggest difference is that with the 45's you can't adjust much on the EQ so they just don't sound as good. A huge difference too is when it comes to phone calls. The 700's are far superior in cancelling out noises for you and from you on calls, making them super clear. The 700's are much better suited for travel, coming with an audio cord that can be plugged in to in flight entertainment or other tech (laptops, etc). I would absolutely recommend the 700's over the 45's, they are much better.
