• The place to buy something else is (wait for it) Best Buy! They have many alternatives, and they sometimes have this speaker on sale (I bought it there on sale recently).

• Bose sells refurbished Bluetooth speakers at all of their stores in Outlet malls. I've purchased refurbished ones and they come boxed and with the full warranty. Much cheaper!!
