It would be so much more usefull if it did not auto-shutoff when docked Is it possible to disable auto-shutoff while the unit is on the dock charging? Or disable it unconditionally?
A few of the things I cannot do:
1. wake up to music
2. place the speaker in a hard to reach place
3. pause music and then resume some time later
5. hear music as soon as I enter my apartment

as to your point #3 I can pause by pressing the round button. Then when I push it again later it will pick up where I left off as long as I have not done anything else in my music on my Iphone 5s

It is not possible to disable the power-save functions of the speaker. After 20 minutes of inactivity (no audio playing and no button presses) the speaker will go into stand-by. This reduces overall power usage and the potential of the speaker to interfere with other products when not in use.

For many of the uses you mention, a Wi-Fi speaker (such as our SoundTouch products) may be a better choice than a mobile Bluetooth speaker. Wi-Fi speakers can remain passively connected to your home network and perform all the functions you mentioned except for waking up to streaming music.
