Yes, each weekend we take the speaker outside to the back yard porch. If I'm using my Mac Book as the audio source, I leave the Mac in the kitchen and speaker out side. It works great in the garage. I say if you keep it from getting wet, there are no problems I see.

Other than some sand in the crevices, it has never failed me. Would not recommend getting wet, although this model seems more splash proof than the SLI

We offer a number of protective cases for the speaker if you want to guard against bumps and scratches when placing it outdoors. The speaker is not built to be rugged or weather resistant, but as long as you do not leave it outside for extended periods or attempt to use it in adverse weather conditions (rain, snow, etc.) you should have no problem.
