Hoping not to hear the iPad and just listen to the Bose speaker.”

• We are glad you asked. You may connect your iPad via Bluetooth or the AUX input. By using the AUX input you'll be assured that there will be no interference while you're listening to your music. You should be able to choose the audio output on your iPad so that you'll be able to enjoy your music through the Bose speaker.

• Aux input works great with wired devices too- iPad, iPod, M3. Sound quality great on either Bluetooth or Aux. Only Bose speaker plays music when it's connected either via Bluetooth or Aux.

• Yes buy a stereo patch cord that way you will get the full sound. It should sound about the same or better via the patch cable. Only the Bose speaker should play Hope that helps.

• Your iPad has Bluetooth capability. I don't know why you would want to attach it. But no. You can't. These types of speakers are Bluetooth only.
