“I'm looking for a separate speaker for my Samsung Smart TV to set on an end table, in order to reduce noise for neighbors living above me. That means it needs a volume control. Also I would like to leave the speaker charging all the time.”

I’ve connected it to my tv through Bluetooth. Volume is controlled by source’s volume so for the tv, use the remote. You can leave the charging cable in for steady current.

I use mine with my laptop and mobile phone, and have it on my end table as well, and usually at 50% volume. There is a volume control button and a full charge last me for well over 24 hrs. You can have it plugged in all the time (electrical out or USB) to maintain a full charge, but it's my understanding that is not good for any type of rechargeable battery, better to let them run down some and then recharge. When you press the power button it will tell you how much battery life it has left. When needed I just plug it in to charge while I'm using it and recharging back to full status is really quick.
