• Hello! Thank you for your question. The right earbud is used as a single headphone for phone calls. The in-line microphone is located on the top of the right bud. This allows you take calls and still hear surrounding sounds. Kind regards. Ashley - Bose Support

• You will use the right side as bluetooth once you put it on your ear it should connect automatically...the sound quality is amazing
