On Samsung devices, the volume buttons work fine but the microphone and pause/play button do not work because the ground and microphone wires are swapped between Apple (CTIA) and Samsung (OMTP) devices. You can buy an adapter online called a CTIA to OMTP adapter to swap the 2 wires and have full functionality. Bose also makes Samsung version that works completely with non-Apple devices.
