You most likely bought a broken device. If the device was found like this before connecting to Bluetooth before ever being used it's probably broken, it's not common to have one side not work and then fix it.

Check to be sure you're sending a signal to both right and left channel. If that's not the issue, then return them to the store and get a replacement. Best Buy's return policy is EXCELLENT!
