“Indoor pictures My Nikon D3100 SLR taxes beautiful pictures but in some areas, such as the church sanctuary or sometimes in the house, I get a shadow behind the subject--usually, the head, but sometimes the body. I need to know if this will correct it. I would attach a picture but have hundreds and usually end up discarding the ones I am talking about. I want this in time for Easter services at the church.”

Yes this will help as long as you bounce the light and not aim directly at your subject.

I'd advise pairing a bracket with a TTL cord to retain your flash's intelligent TTL dedication technology. Otherwise, use a diffuser and/or bounce the light off a wall or ceiling in order to fill in the gaps.
