The RMS Wattage on these is slightly unclear. Directly from Bowers & Wilkins, they say these operate within 30-200 Watts RMS (at 8 ohms), but do not state a peak rating. I have connected them to a Receiver at 100 watts per channel and found that they were significantly under powered. A Receiver with 125+ watts per channel will be way more sufficient. These speakers really "came alive" paired with a 125 watt Receiver.

In the right size room for the 603S3s (small or medium), huge amounts of wattage are not necessary. Your ears will tell you when it is too loud. We recommend keeping the volume below 96dB as this is the level where permanent hearing damage can occur.
