You can definitely bake a potato. I have not cooked chicken in it, but I think you could as long as it’s an amount for no more than one or two people. As for ribs, no idea. We are very happy with ours!

we have successfully cooked a small pizza but we have not tried anything larger. It's in a break room at a business so its use is moderate and infrequent. The convection heat works well and it appears that baking something such as a small chicken or turkey could easily be done. I think a baked potato might be better microwaved.
