“The fan from a previous convection oven (not a Breville) I purchased, went out within 6 months of using. We're thinking due to grease possibly getting in areas not cleanable. Is this something that I should maybe expect with convection ovens.”

The convection fan unit on the Breville Smart Oven Pro is on the right side of the toaster oven and appears to be well made/vented/protected so I'm thinking it should be problem free. I just took a look at my GE Profile dual fuel convection oven and that fan housing unit seems similarly well made/vented and I've had this oven 14 years! The Breville Smart Oven Pro is awesome! You will love it and not regret the purchase one bit! :)
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I would think that it shouldn't happen but I don't know exactly how much grease you are dealing with. My previous convection/toaster lasted for 16 years and actually still worked even though I used it daily. Perhaps for super greasy things you should use your regular oven. The Breville does seem to be easier to clean than toaster ovens I have owned in the past.
