Thank you for reaching out to us. Yes, if you are installing the BCSD130BL and your project requires a non-ducted installation you must have an additional charcoal filter. This filter is used in addition to the aluminum filter. You will attach the non-ducted filters following instructions packed with the nonducted filters. The BCSD130BL uses the following non-duct filter: HPF30 (must order 3), or S97020466. The second part can be ordered through Best Buy, or on our web-site at sss.broan.com by scrolling down to the Parts Store.
