“Can I use this scanner completely independent from a PC/Mac to scan directly to a USB flash drive? I mean never have to connect it to a PC/Mac for anything, configure settings on the device itself and scan directly to USB Flash Drive as a PDF?”

The Brother ADS-2700W machine scans to multiple destinations including File; Image, OCR; Email, Network, USB flash drive; and mobile devices, is compatible with Windows, Mac®; and Linux®; and TWAIN/SANE/WIA for PC drivers.
