• Hello, thank you for this question. We are happy to let you know that this microwave can be externally vented as well as set to recirculating with the use of a charcoal filter (parts #WB02X35607 which comes included with your microwave). We hope this helps! -Elliot@Cafe

• I can vent out the back if you have the setup in your wall for a back vent. We did not, so we have it venting out the top/front. Great that there is a choice.
