“How resistant to fading are the indicators/markings around the knobs; are they raised markings? We have a GE cooktop that is about 11 yrs old and the indicators around the knobs have completely faded away after just 6 yrs.”

The markings on the knobs are applied to the stainless surface and are not raised. We recommend cleaning that area with a soft cloth and a solution of hot soapy water. Take care not to use an abrasive cleaner or a scrubby pad.
