Hi Bill, We're terribly sorry to hear about this. We know how important looks are to home appliances. Our Matte finishes are a highly engineered paint on metal (steel). We recommend that the interior and exterior Matte finish surfaces be treated similar to high-end coatings on automobiles. The Matte White and Matte Black finishes are not engineered for use with soap-filled scouring pads, abrasive cleaners any cleaning product containing chlorine bleach and/or abrasive cloths and paper towels. Use of these types of products may scratch and/or dull the Matte White and Matte Black finish. - With all of that being said, if you bumped the front of the range with a hot ceramic dish, this could potentially cause damage to it.
