“I took a pan out of the oven and set it on top. While cleaning after use I noticed paint peeling off the top in front of the cooktop. I am concerned how a range this expensive can scratch so easily. Should I return for stainless one?”

Hi Bill, Our Matte finishes are a highly engineered paint on metal (steel). We recommend that the interior and exterior Matte finish surfaces be treated similar to high-end coatings on automobiles. The Matte White and Matte Black finishes are not engineered for use with soap-filled scouring pads, abrasive cleaners any cleaning product containing chlorine bleach and/or abrasive cloths and paper towels. Use of these types of products may scratch and/or dull the Matte White and Matte Black finish. We recommended using a soft, clean cloth or a microfiber cloth.
