Hi dHarv, thanks so much for your question! Congrats on your kitchen remodel! We're sure that everything is going to look wonderful! We would recommend, if you're only wanting one or perhaps two cups of coffee, you could fill the reservoir up to the first line from the bottom. That will yield you about two cups of coffee based on the numbers shown on the reservoir. We hope that this is helpful! All the best. -Michael
