That's a great question and we are happy to offer you some guidance in this. The water reservoir is ABS plastic. The filter basket is made of Polypropylene; however, the reusable filter is made of a titanium-plated metal material. While we do not provide specifics about the boiler (heater) material, as the coil element material is considered company proprietary, we would like to encourage you in that this coffee maker is strategically designed to withstand high water temperatures. It is SCA Certified and has passed the Specialty Coffee Association's rigorous tests for exemplary home brewing. In order to become SCA Certified, coffee makers must live up to exacting standards for temperature, time, extraction and consistency, so that you can enjoy a professional cup of coffee right from your counter!
