Hello- Thanks so much for your question. We are happy to help! The Carafe needs to be present when brewing coffee. You will receive an error message (Err) if you try to brew without the carafe in place. We hope this helps! Thank you! Joyce@Cafe
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You can make as many cups as you want no splash if making one cup. It's a nice cofee maker, over priced the wifi doesn't work that great. Coffee is hot and stay warm for about two hours. I would recommend If you want a nice cofee maker , makes coffee quick. If your on a budget you can find something similar just as good for a cheaper price.
