Hi - Thank you for having purchased this beautiful Café coffeemaker. The warming plate is designed to stay on for two hours and then turn off automatically. While the warming plate can be turned off before the two hours are up, it can't be extended or reset to stay on longer than two hours. We are glad you checked with us. Kind regards - Vikki@Café
