Firstly, we'd recommend making sure that your unit was installed properly and that its getting enough power. If the unit is not receiving enough power, then it would not be able to function as intended. This unit's electrical requirements are 208/240V 40 AMPS. If your unit was installed properly and you're still having these issues, we would recommend a service call. A:AnswerHi there - thanks for connecting with us! You will only hear a fan noise while using this range's cooktop if the internal cooling fan automatically turns on. It is normal for this cooling fan to automatically turn on and off in order to cool internal parts of the range (it may run after the oven is turned off). Additionally, it's also normal to hear a fan noise when the convection oven is on. The convection fan will operate during the preheat of the bake cycle and it will turn off after the oven is heated to the set temperature.
