The camera body comes with a Canon battery. The "included free" battery is aftermarket.

I believe mine comes with the original canon battery. At least the battery has CANON logo. Also I got one free battery from the Promotion. It's not the original~~

All accessories included with Canon brand cameras are proprietary. So the battery included in the box with the Canon camera is the Canon L6-E6N, along with the Canon charger. Any additional promotional items that may be included as a gift with purchase will be aftermarket products.

The camera itself comes with a factory Canon battery and in my purchase it was bundled with a second battery from a 3rd party manufacturer.
