“How long can this shoot continuous video? I shoot concerts and have a need for a video camera that will shoot for at least 1 hour straight on a tripod. Previous digital cameras have shut off after about 20 minutes. Is this different?”

29 minutes. just be aware and quickly restart the recording once it hits 29 minutes. It doesn't matter the size of the memory card, it only goes to 29 minutes which I believe most DSLRs is around that length....

It is designed for recording and i believe would only be limited in terms of time based on the size of your memory card. No internal hard drive so i would recommend having a large size memory card for recording for that amount of time.
