“How is this camera for close-up pictures (roughly 10" to 12" away)? I only need a camera to take somewhat close pictures of records, baseball cards, etc., to post on eBay. Is the resolution good for close-up pictures like that?”

Its great for that also. I have taken pictures of pictures and it has done a great job.
