You have a few options. You can get a double bracket that you can mount the camera and mic and attach it to a manfrotto pixie or you can get the rode wireless go and Clip it to the bracket on the back of the screen when flipped up.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There is no hot or cold shoe on this camera. So there is no way to psychically attach the microphone onto the top of the camera without 3rd party cages or other attachments. I tested with a Rode VideoMic Pro and their micro along with various lav mics and a Saramonic SR-XM1 and they all sounded great once you turn down the sensitivity in the camera settings. For the Rode I used a try on the bottom of the camera that attaches to the tripod mount and provides a coldshoe on the side of the camera which worked well. Be advised though that if your planning on taking video of moving objects, it’s going to be difficult with the awful autofocus of this camera. Hope this helps!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have a Rode videomicro that I use without issue. The G7X mk 3 does not have a hot/cold-shoe bracket to mount your mic so you need to find a separate bracket to hold your mic to the side. I found one from Amazon that attaches between the tripod quick disconnect and my camera and holds the Rode mic off to the side.
