- Answer Unfortunately no, you'll likely need a dedicated camcorder to use a remote mic. All things considered, the built-in microphone is decent, but you won't mistake it for professional quality or get much from 100' away.

- Answer NO, it only weighs 15.68 OUNCES! It's very light compared to the metal body smaller, older Canon cameras like the G11. I have painful shoulders but have no problem carrying and shooting extended times with this one.

- Answer You can upload to Facebook, twitter, YouTube and Flickr. When choosing a photo to upload you can upload directly to Facebook should you choose to display the icon on your camera. Neat option because it lets you write something to go along with the photo along with the picture

- Answer Sure. The sx50 (now the sx60) gives you a lot more zoom which would be handy for birding.

- Answer Filters or lens hood can be threaded on, the threads are what the lenscap clamp grabs.
