64GB should be an ample amount of storage for casual use as you listed. We do a lot of touring and birding as you mentioned. We use two cameras. One is the SX60 and the other is a Canon T3i. The SX60 is probably used 2-3 times as much as the T3i. Some weeks we may take as many as 2,000+ pics. We use two different "Scandisk" cards. One is an 80mb/sec and the other is a 48mb/sec 32GB. We have used these cards for 6 months or so in both cameras and haven't encountered any problems. There was a high speed card available but our Best Buy associate said he didn't recommend it with our cameras. Hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I use a 32gb Sandisk extreme card with 45mb/sec and it works great for pictures and videos to include fast action burst shots with no issue...I would assume the 64gb card at 95mb/sec would work even better since it has faster write speeds. 32gb gives me about 6500 photos at 16.9 ratio and 12 megapixels and about 5000 photos at 4.3 ratio at 16 megapixels. 64gb would probably double what I get.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I would go with a class 10 sd memory card at the least. You don't need the highest amount of mb, a 48mb/sec will due just fine with great quality. 64 gigs is perfect!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I own this.camera, I have a SD card with 128GB, it works fine and your 64gb should be good for.nature shots
