• Yes! I use it for that reason and love it! Only thing that could be better is the sound quality but that is just me being picky. And if you get a wind screen that won't be a problem I don't think.

• If you want to shoot video of yourself then get a tripod. Otherwise it's perfectly fine for video shooting by hand.
