• The screen protector is not "built-in" but comes as a separate piece with the phone case. It is very easy to install. No need to buy a phone case and then a second purchase of a screen protector. Both parts are included.

• Yes it is a case and a separate screen protector. They go on separately, it's not a one piece item.
