“Can the Chromecast with Google TV be powered by the Chromecast Gen 3's power cable? I don't like that the unit's white, but I can live with it because it's hidden behind the TV but I don't want a white cable hanging from behind the set.”

Not sure what the 3rd gen Chromecast used, but this should work with most USB-C cables for power. I do know that the power from a TV's USB port is not enough juice to run this, so you would need to plug it directly into a power outlet.
