Please note that while Chromecast doesn't require any subscription to use, you will need to subscribe to the services of some partnering apps such as YouTube TV, Netflix, Hulu, HBO Max, Brit Box, Prime Video, and many more to stream movies and other video contents. QuestionWhy does Google even pretend to have customer service? I have had an issue for > 3 weeks, issue escalated to higher level; however, NO one contacts me and there is no way to get anyone to help now as if I call they just "resubmit" issue, NEVER CONTACT!!!

QuestionI am not tech savey im 66 and disabled.So my question is if i understand right if i want to eliminate my aprox 200 hundred dollar bill each month to Xfinity .Would i be able to get local channels to Seattle like Fox Komo ,King ect.Seahawk games Mariners

- Answer No. Chromecast is a Wi-Fi enabled device. It requires to be connected to a stable Wi-Fi network, to be able to stream videos seamlessly. Availability and performance of certain features, services, and applications are device and network dependent. Although mobile data or hotspot connection may work, we do not recommend it for the reason that it can have issues with bandwidth availability, data limits and usage fees. QuestionDoes this Chromecast turn off the video output so the TV will go to sleep when it goes to sleep? Or does it just turn the TV screen completely black and leave the TV powered on indefinitely when it goes to sleep like the stupid Fire TV does?

- Answer You can configure your Chromecast Voice Remote to control devices like your TV. You can set up the volume, power, and input buttons. Normally, you can configure these buttons when you first set up the Chromecast with Google TV. You can also set them up in Google TV settings. QuestionCan I download the Downloader app? Can I install 3rd party apps?

- Answer Yes Downloader is available in Google Play store on the device. And yes you can install 3rd party apps BUT for some reason, which I haven't been able to figure out, some 3rd party apps never show up in the apps list. You actually have to go all the way into device settings to your installed apps and look for the app and open/manage it from there. Plus, there is no "recently used apps" list on the home screen like there is on Fire TV Stick. If there were then the apps not showing up in the regular apps list wouldn't be so much of a problem. Also, keep in mind there are no play, ffw/Rew buttons on the remote which is very inconvenient, along with volume buttons being on the side of the remote.
