The kit comes with everything you need to install on an AMD or Intel chip. It includes all the pieces and parts for a complete install. Although I bought a higher level of thermal paste in addition to what was in the package. 

I had a liquid cooling system that failed and bought this more as a test then a long term fix. After install (and the addition of an additional fan) it works as well if not better than the liquid cooler. I am very happy.

Yes, the kit comes with everything you would need out of the box to install on any of the Intel or AMD sockets they specify compatibility with. Personally, I bought some "nicer" (more expensive) thermal compound and used that instead, but if I had payed more attention and noticed there was some included I would've saved my $$ and bought a second fan right away instead.. with 2 fans this cooler competes with just about every liquid AIO cooler I've seen or used.. for like half the price at most.
