“this keyboard has two usb plugs, by them self one allows the keyboard, lights, and everything to work perfect. nthe other usb doesnt do anything plugged in by itself and i dont notice a difference with both in either. so what does the other usb plug do?”

Hi Cammy, As mentioned, the second USB connection is for the keyboard's USB-passthrough port. You can find it on the back of the keyboard and use it for other devices such as your mouse. Please feel free to let us know if you have any other questions: support.corsair.com -Albert

So if you wanted to connect your mouse or headset to the keyboard, that second USB is what connects it to the PC. If you don't intend on using the USB passthrough on the keyboard, or just need to keep that USB port free on your PC, you can just leave it disconnected.
