This 100% guarantees that the modules will work in dual-channel mode, which is a feature of most systems, and provides an additional boost of performance from the parts. Buying two single modules should also work perfectly fine, but parts may not be selected from the same batch. Although slightly cheaper in price, we cannot guarantee that dual-channel mode would be enabled - partly due to very small variations on the module manufacturing process.
