“If I house this can I use as an external for my Mac Studio? I want to use directly and edit 4K video footage from it. I currentl have an OWC Envoy express 4tb but have maxed it out and need another external. will this be as fast?”

THIS IS MUCH FASTER M.2 SO YOU WILL NEED TO MAKE SURE THAT WHATEVER HOUSING YOU PURCHASE HAS A CONTROLLER CHIP CAPABLE OF MATCHING THE T700 MAX THROUGHPUT SPEED

You will not get advertise speed. since its a USB connections low bandwidth, it may not be suitable for high data transfer from Disk to System via a USB, and as a result, you may notice a performance downgrade. Usually, an internal direct to motherboard connection would provide enough bandwidth.
