• mine had that smell the first time cooking in it, like most do. I recommend running it for 15/20 minutes when you first get it to bake off those chemical smells. After that there was no smell with mine.

• We havent noticed any. Hers had no chemical taste to the food prepared.

• Haven't used the one purchased, but when use the one at work, there is a slight smell, but not in the taste.

• you can always add chemicals to get that fresh weird flavor if that's what you want
