so after some experimentation when I first got my coffee maker. There seems to be two sensors. One to verify you emptied your basket and the other to verify water is in the tank. You need two cups of water to not show empty and you need to empty the basket. FYI that also means if you want to reheat coffee you have to add two cups of water as well
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It's easy to adjust the strength when you're using ground coffee - just change the amount of ground coffee you put in the basket, like you would with any other coffee maker. The strength control is available when you use whole beans, which is the only time it's needed.

Please try again later.According to the manual, you should be able to brew ground coffee....just add water to the coffeemaker, add ground coffee, turn off grind....if you can't, I'd guess there is something wrong with the unit and you should contact Cuisnart or return the coffeemaker for exchange or whatever is appropriate.

Unplug it. Plug it back in. Add your Ground Coffee. Then add the Water. Then push Start or On, whatever it says. Then push GRIND Off. Then push the little round BREW button.
