It does not grind. Makes full pot on 1 side & a 6,8 or 10oz cup on the other side. You can use k cups or ground coffee (comes with a permanent filter also)on the cup side. I love it!

Just remember to remove the Kcup insert before replacing it with the single serve filter included with the machine to use your own coffee.
