It holds enough water to make 3 to 4 coffees at the 12 cup setting. I usually fill it after 3 cups and it's never empty so you could probably get 4 out of it.

It holds a lot. I am not exactly sure how much but you can make 4-5 12 oz cups before having to fill it up again.

No You do not have to fill each time if you start out with reservoir full you should be able to make several cups depending on the size of cup you are using the reservoir holds 42oz of water so use that as a gauge!
12x3=36oz of water. 16x2=32oz of water without refilling

You can fill the side for the pods as much water as you want because once you put 8oz it will only make 8oz cup of coffee ..

It has a reservoir that’s about 40oz. You don’t have to fill it each time you make a pod.
