hi, I went on their site NO it's not battery operated it has a cord that plugs into the wall, just like any countertop appliance it's a 3 prong cord that grounds if you go on their site it has a video of how big the burners are and this lady with bad teeth that talks way too much will tell you what I just told you in far less time!! lol...lol...lol...
