Thanks for reaching out Lyric. If you want to upgrade to a Ryzen series CPU, you would need to upgrade your motherboard to one that supports the AM4 socket as the motherboard you currently have only supports the AM3+ socket. You should be able to apply a layer of thermal paste on the CPU once you have upgrade to the new one.
