“Of the 8gb someone says 4gb is designated to editing is this true?”

Not quite sure what they mean by 4GB being used for editing, but while running games on the system I found my RAM usage was about 4.5-5GB which is more than half the available RAM it comes with. Don't know if this answers your question or not.
