“Can you plug this portable cd player into the usb port in a car that does not have a cd player? I have all these cd's I can't play in the new car, But I see it has two usb ports. one near the lighter , the other inside arm rest compartment. thanks.”

Already sent one answer to this … i.e. RIP the CD to a USB drive … then use the USB drive … worked. Tried to connect the CD drive to the USB port … it was not recognized … so it did not work. 2019 Ford Mustang.

But I have a Dell laptop with Windows 10 and what I did do was RIP the CDs I have to a USB drive and then used the USB drive in the car and things worked out OK. I have a 2019 Mustang … sounds like your car is setup the same as mine. Good luck.
